Haberdashers

Shortly after the invention of the gun, however, armour became entirely useless for all but the most retarded knights, and the concept of “underwear” was abandoned soon afterwards.
The Haberdashers continued to make money, however, by selling pins, needles and assorted bits of thread to women living in the same castles as the knights (a lucrative scheme, which they had been moonlighting with for several decades).
Thus the wealth of the Haberdashers grew and grew, allowing them to roam about the country, founding schools at random. Nowadays, they simply sit about in London, being rich.
