Kemptonshire

Kemptonshire is a fictional county somewhere in the Midlands, England, UK.

History

The county of Kemptonshire was established in 1999 when JTA printed off a newspaper called The Kempton & Manderley Times which ran for almost seven editions.

In 2004, Statto & JTA were in need of a location for their newly-made-up University of Canford, and hit upon the idea of putting it somewhere they’d already made up, to save on legal bills. Thus Kemptonshire’s defunct industry was revitalised for all of two months.

Geography

JTA once made a map of Kemptonshire with felt-tipped pens. According to this map, Kemptptonshire is a rural, costal county, adjacent to the equally fictitious Barsetshire containing several fictious towns and heavily influenced by the works of Charles Dickens, Agatha Christie, Daphne DuMaurier and Mr North.
