The William Adams’ Arts & Debating Society

The TWAADS committee in LVIth
The William Adams’ Arts & Debating Society was the name given to the constantly-rebranded, upper school only debating and arts society during Statto & JTA’s time at its helm.
History
Statto first started attending the Arts & Debating Society, as it was then known, in the dark days of Year 10. Dragging along JTA, they were the token lower-school eccentrics.
Statto been doing House Public Speaking since Year 8, having deferred to a certain Luke Ostler in Year 7, and JTA and he alternated victories or so from Year 9 onwards. From then on, they tried our best to gain a stranglehold on everything speaking-related in the school.
By UVIth form, Statto, JTA and Joe Armstrong had total control of the administrative positions within TWAADS (the acronym of the new name they conceived), Statto & JTA were the school debating team, and the leading rôles and technical side of school productions had been entirely monopolised. From Year 11 onwards, TWAADS produced plays in which they stretched their dramatic muscle, audiences’ patience and the bounds of good taste.
Future
After Statto & JTA left, TWAADS was renamed by some equally megalomanic persons who wanted to make their mark on the World. The Adams’ Grammar School Senior Arts Society, as it’s now known, recently called Statto & JTA back in to teach them how to debate. They also had their page on Wikipedia deleted.
