Vacuoïteration

Vacuoïteration is the heinous linguistic crime of repeating oneself unnecessarily, most commonly referring to repetition of the last word of an acronym after said acronym.

History

The word vacuoïteration was invented by Statto and Mark Rodgers to describe this practice of superfluous repetition, which annoyed them both intensely.

Initially they described it ironically as RWS syndrome, but eventually reached for a Latin dictionary, coming up with the implausibly-polysyllabic supervacaneoiteration amongst others, before finally settling on vacuoiteration.

Chloë Beech recommended use of a diaeresis to ensure that its pronounciation does not eventually degrade into “vaquoiteration” through human linguistic laziness. Thus, vacuoïteration was finally born.
